Mama Day

Whoa.
Mind blown.
I actually almost cried at the end.
SO good.
I always like stories that combine a little bit of the fantastic with a real life. And I love it when the places and the people in the books are so beautiful that I just want to go there and talk to them.

READ IT. (Except I'm sorry about the few instances of explicit-ness).

run fast for your mother, run fast for your father, run for your children for your sister and brothers

Guys. I just sprinted to work.

As in, hands on the backpack straps, I-look-like-an-idiot sprinted.
And why, you might ask? Well, I will tell you.

I have not been late to work this entire year. EVER. Not once since August. I have been to work every day by 8. I don't think there is anyone else in my office who has done this.

So, it was a matter of pride, really. I chucked my pride down the drain and ran to work...
in order to keep my lack-of-tardiness pride.

just do it

This morning, my alarm went off at
...like usual.

However, when the clock struck
...I was still hitting snooze.

And there I was, faced with a choice
To run or not to run? Seriously, I'm only going to have 10 minutes. Worthless?
I am happy to report that I decided

And it felt sublime.
Fresh, fresh, fresh.
That is always how I feel afterward.  It was so worth it guys. My ten minute run was perfection.

So, here' a plug for y'all. Just do it. You'll feel better. I pinky promise.

... now if I could only apply that to my fifty-billion term papers. [yuck.]

happy happy girl

Today, when I got to work the first thing my supervisor, Desiree, said to me is "Why are you so happy?"
Cause, people, I am happy.
I attribute it to a couple of things:

I seriously believe there is nothing in this world more refreshing than taking a run. Or a swim. Or a bike ride, or a walk. And I have been doing just those things. Thank you, my lovely roommates who are either triathletes or training for the Ragnar.
Plus, while I run I listen to J. Biebs. Best. Work-Out. Music. Ever. Believe it. Your work out will nevah be the same.

Secondly, I found out where I will be living the next year and a half of my life:

dun dun-dun duuun!

That's right, ladies and gentlemen. "Deep in the heart of Texas" (please believe I hear Hadfield's voice singing that e'ry time I think it. E'ry time.) And it's taken a while, but I am thrilled! I'll be serving in T.H.E. Mission (Texas Houston East). I can't even imagine how rad it's going to be. Which is terrif- the most marvelous things are always unexpected.

(coolie - I just googled "define:tejas" cause I refer to it in my mexicano-speak 90% of the time and check this out:
Tejas: Sanskrit word meaning fearlessness, valor.Awesome.

And last week I reread Mrs. Dalloway By Virginia Woolf. The most scrumptious, delicious, breathtaking language in the world! It's one of those books that makes you feel like lace and pearls and fresh flowers - instant "classy".
Read it.

Plus, on top of all this sugar, I've been feeling really inspired lately. By quotes and classes and books and all of these sparking people.
Have a taste:
"The important thing is this: To be able at any moment to sacrifice what we are for what we could become." - Charles DuBois

See what I'm saying? I'm a happy girl of late. It's bliss.

Sweet Thames, run softly till I end my song.
Sweet Thames, run softly, for I speak not loud or long.

oh. my.

Guess who I saw at the local Cafe Rio in Cottonwood Heights last night??

Yes. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, this is Crazy Michelle of Bach-fame. Jenna (who happens to work part-time as a member of the paparazzi) snapped this photo while we were in line.
Guys, we may have all misjudged her. For one thing, her mom and dad are really normal and really nice. For another, she said "Sorry" when Jenna reached around her to get a straw...
But, then again, Jenna did get sick after eating her salad last night.... I'm just sayin, the salad was there, Jenna was there, crazy Michelle was there...

P.S. First e-mail from Sister Norton today! Hoo-rah.

debbie sedikit

"Death is but crossing the world, as friends do the seas; they live in one another still. For they must needs be present, that love and live in that which is omnipresent. In this divine glass, they see face to face; and their converse is free as well as pure. This is the comfort of friends, that though they may be said to die, yet their friendship and society are, in the best sense, ever present, because immortal." - William Penn

(Yes, swiped from the front page of HP 7. deal with it.)

Kelle has now been in the MTC for a week! Yikes! I just sent her a little card today. I'm sure she's rockin' it 218 style over there.

Once upon a time, many years ago (sort of) we all six of us were freshmen together in Provo. This is a mini reunion picture.

Wow. So it looks like I'm just going to be sappy-capital for the moment.

May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
The sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your field,
And, until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of his hand.

Kim, Jenna, I swiped all of your pictures. Thanks!

This is me being a good companion already and going with Mikelle to the front door while she says goodbye to a BOY. I was right there. The whole time. That's right. I don't mess around.
... And I believe Kimmy is dancing. Like usual.

Love you, love you.

This is just a little snapshot personification of life. In this photo, Mikelle was just made a missionary, Jenna is getting married in April, I am already pro at the thumbs-up-missionary thing (oh boy), and Kimmy is upset with us all for fleeing the state.

Mikelle, in 18 months when you read this - Hurrah for Israel!

so...

I know that I really have something better/more important/including pictures to post about
buuutttttt
that's a little too big for me to process right now.
So I'm going to post about my greatest great love for this cute cute cutest:

guys! he is so cute and so sweet! I just saw the movie and I am beyond convinced.
A) He is a prodigy. 100% so talented. I am for real.
B) He is so nice to his mom, his crew, and his fans. So so sweet.
C) He is legit jail bait... and while I don't love him in such a way, I see where you're coming from, Selena Gomez.
D) I just want him to stay away from the corrupting influence of Miley Cyrus. Stay pure JB.
E) He is so little!!! What a cute little skinny kid, I just love him.
F) People, my Biebsy is legit. In every way.

I loved the movie. That is the basic bottom line. love him.
