S.N.O.W.

The first fall of snow is not only an event, it is a magical event.  You go to bed in one kind of a world and wake up in another quite different, and if this is not enchantment then where is it to be found? J.B. Priestley

So here it comes. Half of you are going to hate me, and half of you know exactly what I'm talking about.

I love snow. I love snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes. And silver white winters (that melt into springs, but that part's not important just now). I love the sound it makes - it makes the air thick and quiet. I love that when you step on it, the sound is halfway between a door hinge and a groan. In fact, I really agree with Lorelai

Just to prove my point, we have some snow quotes.

"And finally Winter, with its bitin', whinin' wind, and all the land will be mantled with snow."
Roy Bean (check out this guy. he is the raddest baddest thing you will ever see. here's a sneaky peak to get the party started)

"Sunshine is delicious, rain is refreshing, wind braces us up, snow is exhilarating; there is really no such thing as bad weather, only different kinds of good weather."  John Ruskin

"Is it snowing where you are? All the world that I see from my tower is draped in white and the flakes are coming down as big as pop-corns. It's late afternoon - the sun is just setting (a cold yellow colour) behind some colder violet hills, and I am up in my window seat using the last light to write to you."
— Jean Webster (Daddy Long Legs)

"A few feathery flakes are scattered widely through the air, and hover downward with uncertain flight, now almost alighting on the earth, now whirled again aloft into remote regions of the atmosphere."
— Nathaniel Hawthorne (this guys is bad-aye.I like him a lot.And he seems complimentary to snow right here. bravo, nate.)

The snow doesn't give a soft white damn whom it touches.  e.e. cummings (this is for all y'all who don't like snow. and it is not really negative toward snow, it just shows snow in all its thugness. Snow don't care. Snow does what snow wants to do. Bad-aye number 2.)

And finally: Watch this. I bet you a dollar it's worth-while. ... but I haven't watched it yet.

*P.S. I am starting #4 today. Yikes. I am Speed Racer through the binding.

snow, por favor?

I use Spanglish on a day to day basis.

I am sitting here at work and all I want to be doing is reading HP, baby. I am determined to  finish the series by movie 7... and I am in book 2 right now. Don't worry,  if there's anything I can really do and do well, it's read. Maybe I'll stop at book 6 though. I won't be left as unsatisfied with the 6 month intermission.

I wake up every morning lately in just the worst mood ever. It gets better as I walk to school. But what IS that? Anyone? Thoughts? Ideas? Suggestions?

It is going to SNOW this week. What the nuts?? Huzzah. All you Ebenezer Scrooges' out there, listen up. "I will honor Christmas in my heart and try to keep it all the year." Yeah. How does it feel, chewing your words?

The best thing just happened to me. The nicest man came by and just talked to me for 5 minutes. I really liked him. He was nice and just asked me the general questions, where are you from? what's your major? when do you graduate? He was nice. He made my morning worthwhile.

There is a song that is played in the ASB lobby video every day. I really like it and I can't find who sings it. It's probably a local band (like the one that I fell in deep love with this Friday). If you've heard this song, let me know!
"You've got that sunshine, you've got that golden heart ....
You've got that mbldevm, you've got that southern charm..."

I feel like I should put a picture on this post. Pictures keep people interested. This is a picture from Friday (after I fell deep in love at a different partay. I am your party-people.)
(I am many things. Carmen San Diego. A French Fashion Model (Flattering). Surrounded by Asians/people-who-wish-they-were-Asian. A detective. I was going for the last one, but I left my Great-Mouse-Detective pipe at home).

My book is due back at the library today.

We need to change our Brita filter today.

I am Clarissa Dalloway.

jet dry in my shake??

This is funny. This week, I made a chocolate breakfast shake:
With scoop of my herbalife nutrition powder:
Which I had been doing for the week previous.
Rewind a day, and we had had a jet dry mishap in our dishwasher. Jet Dry EVERYWHERE. The next day, when I made a shake it tasted funk. So, I got mad at the jet dry and poured my shake out. The next morning - same thing! What was going on, I wondered, we fixed the jet dry sitch, didn't we??
I made my chocolate shake without the powder and it was normal. My herbalife must be going bad I surmised.

That night, Mikelle came home and asked me "Why do you keep putting my shake mix on your shelf?"
Well, of course, I had not been...
... or so I thought.
"Yes, this is my mix." says Mikelle. "See, it's Pina Colada."
I  had been putting Pina Colada Herbalife in my chocolate shakes!!!!
I had been using Kelle's mix; since it is the same color as mine I thought it was mine. How funny is this?? Funny.
Moral of the story: never make a choco-pina colada. They are dirt-nast.

october

Welcome to the second week of this great month of Octubre! After a... let's just call it like it is, shall we?... hellish first week, I have made some goals for the month.
  • Exercise - specifically yoga
  • Eat breakfast every day
  • Eat fruits and vegetables
  • Spend $0
  • Pay a friendly visit to my College Counseling/Career Center
  • Exuberance
In other news, things are becoming clearer to me. Isn't that so nice?
We took the color test at my apartment this weekend. Try and guess what my colors are. I loved taking the test because it kind of... reminded me what and who I am. It is really a coolie thing - check it out if you get the chance. Basically, everyone you know is a mixture of 4 colors. Red, Yellow, Blue, and White. (I myself am 17, 15, 8(can't actually remember this number), 3).

Kelle is 26 and Kimmy is 0. And that's all I remember.
We were reading HP (book 1 yeeeah) and we can't decide what Neville is. Because in book 1, I would say White all the way. But in book 7 remember how take charge Neville is? So rad. So what are your thoughts? What is color is Neville?

i wish you could hear what i hear

because it's the sound of rain on my windows and window sill with the window wide open.
and the smell is gorgeous.

I love that it's autumn.

(P.S. I feel so much better thanks in huge huge part to this. having a bad day? take a gander.)

lately

I am in the worst mood of my life lately! What is up??
So, instead of talking about the reign of terror that I have been creating, I will post some over due pictures and say some things I am glad about. capisci?

Big News:
I finally like Provo. I mean, there are still things that I am like "Ooooh, my gosh." But aren't there things like that were you live too? At least a couple?

My newfound appreciation for the city comes from (ironically) the mountains. I used to deplore them - they are not like my mountains very much at all, you see. But, the leaves have already started to change and it's been stormy and cool and...

visual aids: (seriously, are not doing it justice. it's sublime)

Also, here is a little photo of the girls of 218. It was Mikelle's birthday - can't you tell by the ecstatic joy on her face?
