Mama Day

Whoa.
Mind blown.
I actually almost cried at the end.
SO good.
I always like stories that combine a little bit of the fantastic with a real life. And I love it when the places and the people in the books are so beautiful that I just want to go there and talk to them.

READ IT. (Except I'm sorry about the few instances of explicit-ness).

Sweet Thames, run softly till I end my song.
Sweet Thames, run softly, for I speak not loud or long.

I have been missing London like crazy today. I was reading through my journal last night and this is what I wrote the morning that I left to come back home:
"I decided a while ago that I was leaving my heart - a little chink of my whole heart - here. In Hyde Park and Palace Court and Queensway and Bayswater and Whitely's and Tesco Metro and Pizza Hut."
And for some reason today it just - wham! - hit me that I still miss it.

Haiti

Ten months later, and even though we don't hear about it every day there is still a lot of terrible happening in Haiti. There have been widespread outbreaks of cholera and thousands are still homeless. They're far from "in the clear". Keep them still in your prayers and try to help out however you can.

This is Misthaki Pierre, who lost his mother to cholera on October 29. He is now an orphan.

I am so grateful today for how I have been blessed.

Or every night in London. I was showing my padre the Jersey Boys version of "December, 1963 (Oh, What a Night)" and I miss everybody! And Palace Court.

very last

I am probably a little bit nuts because I have not been to sleep all night and it is 7:07 AM here. But it was our last night in London. More than half the house is already gone. Kate leaving made me cry (can you believe it??) and now I'm sitting here not wanting to believe that I have to go back and that this isn't my home anymore.
I have loved Hyde Park. I have loved Thorntons (half the time). I have loved Pizza Hut (especially when they make chocolate pazooki's for us). I have loved the National Gallery. I have loved the coach. I have loved breakfast - when everyone asks what you did last night and what are your plans for today. I have loved Portabello. I have loved these people. I am a different person thanks to them.
So, now that my sob-story is over (for now) I will figure out how to get to Heathrow (Bayswater to Glouster to Terminal 4 I do believe). And I will maybe just shut my eyes for an hour before I get up, clean up, and get lost.
I am pretty tired right now. I love the Center but I realize that I don't want to stay here now; not when the people who made it what it was are MIA. See you in Provo this fall, minus Kate and Chels and Kathryn. The rest of you - be there or be square.
Adios, with love, from London.
