"oh the humanity!"

You've heard that before right? Well, it came from a radio reporter who was witnessing the Hindenberg Zeppelin disaster in 1937.

Last night. I joined his ranks.

I was on the radio!

"I am voting for number 1." may yet go down in history.

Thank you, Mix 107.9. You made me a very happy girl last night (in a way that JJ Riley and Star 102.7 never did).

The radio guy sounded hot on the phone. And he said "Thanks for calling in, girl" successfully making me like being called "girl".

the midnight oil

I do all sorts of things to put off getting ready for/going to bed. I don't know why I do this.
The list includes:
GoogleReader
Blog-stalking
Youtubing Glee
Playing Hearts on my laptop

I had a good day today. Me and Mom when shopping (nearly a disaster; i hate shopping), we did our blackboard art project (photos to come), I took a bus to Provo, started to drive to Delta, 20 minutes and 2 miles later got off the freeway and went to Panda Express, took a bus home, and went to Kimmy's/Trent's/Jen's/Madre Newman's Extravaganza.

I'm moving next week. I don't want to :[. But I'm going to be living with some nice ladies, so it's all alright.

I'm running in a 5K tomorrow morning with mi Padre (or "Pops" as my 3-year-old cousin calls my uncle). So I really need to go to bed.

...You do this putting-off-getting-ready/going-to-bed devilry too-- right??

pull of the moon

a tea-kettle whistle deep within a home
as a radio sings a song it's sung countless times before
and i step outside with a searching heart
to save up wishes as we look above

at the pull of the moon
and the weight of the stars
you anchor me with all that you are
like the stemming of the tide
moon's attraction to the sea
you are, you are all these things

quotes

What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.
     -Ralph Waldo Emerson

Don't ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.
      -Howard Thurman

The cure for anything is salt water- sweat, tears, or the sea.

some stuff i've did

recently I fell off the face of the earth. These are the things I did during that time:

(read and LOVED)

(coolie bike, huh? it's not mine. same color though)

(I love this song and I am counting down for the cd)

(cause one of these days i'm just bound to whip out the great american novel)

( this is quite possibly my favorite tv channel. I saw Warren Beatty's first movie a couple of days ago. I like him. James Dean is a weirdy.)

(hung out with these two strapping young men.)

AAAAND:

(that's right, folks! my first ever demo-derby. I can't even describe how awesome it was. come next year! you'll be able to see for yourself.)

I hope your summer is just as good!

fresh flowers

I'd rather have roses on my table than diamonds around my neck. - Emma Goldman

... or daisy flowers that i picked from my grandma's backyard.
still counts.
